Last week was one of those weeks you relish living in New York. Imagine being sprawled on the green grass of Central Park while coming together with other city folk to celebrate John Lennon’s 70th birthday. Picture Lou Reed on the mic swinging by to say some words as well. It was one big group hug… just the way he would have liked it.
It’s important to note that it is also the 30th anniversary of Lennon’s death too, which brought an intense wave of joy and respect for a soul who passed through this world too quickly. His imprint was deafening. The centerpiece to the mass birthday party was the premiere of a smart documentary that is part of the American Masters series on PBS called Lennon NYC.
