StndAIR Now Comes With In Flight Tweets

This summer has been all about StndAIR, our new family seaplane. Zipping back and forth from the beaches to the city, people just can’t get enough! Just this weekend, I was floating around in the Peconic Bay when it flew overhead. I tried to write a message in the sand telling it to come back for me after sunset, but I couldn’t write fast enough…
Now, in order to help you (as well as me when I’m floating in a bay) keep in touch with Willa (that’s her name by the way), we created a StndAIR Twitter account where you can get real time updates about the flight board, weather delays, cancellations, charters, specials, in flight entertainment and all things Stan D’aviator related!
Make sure to follow Willa and stay up to date with her whereabouts and goings on. Let me know if you have any questions…

Grammy Award winning artist Dirty Vegas and DJ Michael Burian will be showcased with this multi-sensorial experience.
Setting SYNESTHESIA apart from any other event is its fusion between DJ and live-orchestra performance as well as its incorporation of the five senses. We’re giving away 2 tickets via The Standard Miami Twitter. We want to know, what will the night be lacking without you?

James Franco Updates

Lots of James Franco updates this week… First off, the Oscar nominated actor quit Twitter according to New York Magazine so the weekly mag won’t be posting any more of his doodles or cat photos. We suppose he got sick of all the Oscar cracks that dissed his performance, which leads us to our second thought — Franco’s recent chat with David Letterman. The man explains it all himself. Check it out.
Bronx Zoo Cobra Takes Manhattan

As most of you already know, a cobra from the Bronx Zoo escaped the other day. Now the manhunt is on, but in the meantime, the cobra has been exploring the city and tweeting its adventures along the way. It even came by The Standard, New York!
For those of you who don’t believe a cobra can tweet on the go, this is what it has to say to you…”Ever heard of an iPhone? Duh!” Enjoy your day, Cobra! Rise & Slither!
Happy Birthday, Twitter!

I feel like I’ve been tweeting since I was a little kid. I think we all have, and we have our good friend Jack Dorsey to thank for it all! What would we be doing right now, if we don’t have to limit ourselves to just 140 characters at a time. I would have written a book by now!
Anytweet, today, Twitter is celebrating its 5th Birthday, and we wanted to wish Jack and everyone over at the Twitter headquarters a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY! We tweet you!

Standard Culture Club

When I was little Baby D’Arde, all I did was obsess over Boy George and Culture Club. I don’t know what it was. It was the late 80’s and everyone couldn’t get enough of BG’s Karma Kameleon. For me, I couldn’t get enough of seeing a white guy with dreads, but I digress…
ANYDOYOUWANTTOMAKEMECRY, this morning, I opened up my inbox to find an email from my Twitter account with the subject line that read “@BoyGeorge is now following you on Twitter”. WHAT?!?!? Did I just read that correctly? Boy f@&#ing George is following little ol’ Stan?!?! I don’t think my ego can handle this.
I have finally arrived. Now after all those lonely nights of tweeting from Manhattan duplex, I can rest assured knowing that George will be giggling all by his lonesome in some London flat across the pond.
Regardless of all this, I still worship YOU, my Stan D’elovelies, who have followed me, supported me, loved me and drunk DMed me from Le Bain. Without you, I am nothing.

Don’t Question Stan, Jack Dorsey!
I am SOOOO excited right now for SO many reasons, my Stan D’arlings!
The first one is that, from today on, I’m going to be bringing you deeply fascinating interviews with the people in my life who make the world go round, and the interviews shall be called “Don’t Question Stan, XXX” The XXX being the person interviewed. I know. I know. I love it too.
The second reason I’m beyond myself is because the first in this series of Q&As is my good friend, Jack Dorsey.
The last reason I’m excited is that my martini JUST arrived. So keep reading while I sit back and imbibe. Let the games begin!!!

You, Jack Dorsey, are most infamous for giving the world Twitter. What was your very first visual thought when the idea came to you. What did you see?
I’ve been obsessed with maps and cities since I was very young, always wondering what was going on at various places on the map. I got into programming dispatch software for taxis and emergency vehicles to visualize where they were and what they were doing. Twitter is the missing piece of that work, the citizens and my friends: where were they, and what were they doing? I still see it as a big map full of activity.
