A Little Shopping on The Sunset Strip, Circa 1967

Here’s a groovy little promo video shot for Belinda’s, a clothing store that existed on The Sunset Strip in the late 60’s.  Belinda’s was located a few blocks down from the present day location of The Standard, Hollywood and, much like today, The Strip in the 60’s was the epicenter of the youth movement and was the place to be and be seen.  Sit back, take a little trip back in time, and let the owner of Belinda’s, Charles Lange, prove that “fashion can really be fun”.

(The music from the opening scene is just priceless)

A night at The Whisky, 1967

The Sunset Strip is the name given to the mile-and-a-half stretch of Sunset Boulevard that passes through West Hollywood. The Strip is the place of rockstar legends and, not coincidentally, the home of The Standard, HollywoodWhisky a Go Go is one of The Strip’s most notorious clubs. The Whisky is considered the birthplace of go go dancing and, if that wasn’t cool enough, they also had The Doors as their house band for a bit in the mid 60’s.  Let’s flip it back a few years and check out a typical night on The Strip circa 1967…

(It’s fun to watch this video and try to guess what drug everyone is on)
