Very few people get their chance at fame, and even fewer people get to shoot their fame at the Chateau Marmont. But that’s exactly what happened recently for Reese Witherspoon while posing for the May cover of Elle Magazine.
Photographer and friend, Ben Watts, descended upon our Hollywood hideaway to bring you all the hottest looks in spring fashions. Can you guess the suite number they shot in? Only a few would really know. Check the video and get back to me. I’m sure Mr. Joe Zee is beyond himself right now.

When God created the Garden of Eden millennia ago, I’m pretty sure he never thought that it would resurface in modern times at Chateau Marmont on Sunset Boulevard. But that’s exactly what happened. Well, at least in my opinion, but I’m biased because the Chateau is like my older sister who never let me borrow her stuff….until now.
Whenever I’m out in LA to visit The Standards, I always make it a point to visit Chef Carolynn Spence in the restaurant at Chateau Marmont. Having honed her skills at The Spotted Pig in New York City as the Chef de Cuisine, she has now created an incredibly hearty menu with European influences consisting of fresh local produce and simple shared plates.
Sofia’s Movie
It’s finally here. The New York Premiere of Sofia Coppola’s Somewhere happened last night, Sunday (Dec 12th), in New York’s Tribeca. Here’s a cute website she has launched with some portraits taken during the filming of this movie (set inside our sister hotel, The Chateau Marmont).
The movie is set for release on December 22 in limited theaters, so put it on your Christmas “to-do” list when the holidays begin. Check out the photo essay at Sofia Coppola’s Somewhere.
