In anticipation of the upcoming NY Fashion Week, we dug up this pic from an old Stan D’Arde post. More from Stan here.
Elise Overland’s Ice Skating Spectacular

Over the years, I have seen many a fashion spectacle. From a CHANEL show in LA where models were brought down the runway on private jets to a Y-3 show in NY where the Hudson River was lit up via light sculptures floating on barges in the background, but never before have I seen an ice skating spectacle like this one.
On Saturday night, Elise Overland presented her Fall Winter 2011 collection on the ice skating rink at The Standard, New York. As guests arrived, they were met with an empty rink that had a 2 ton ice sculpture built upon it. Slowly thereafter, models one by one were positioned on the ice. As the music began to play, ice skaters in Overland’s creations took to the ice to skate around in a dreamlike winter wonderland fantasy that only could come from the genius mind of the designer.
For her finale, the designer commissioned uber skating wonder, Johnny Weir, for a performance of his latest single, Dirty Love, translated into a Black Swan theme.
