StndAIR + FIAT = Stan’s Package

FIATs waiting for you at Sunset Beach
Summer is almost over, and I just can’t bear the thought. I really can’t. But lucky for me, I’ve been all over the place taking advantage of the warm weather. Los Angeles on Monday & Tuesdays. Miami on Thursday and Fridays. My beach house on the weekends. Don’t forget all the trips back and forth to Sunset Beach via my adorable little red seaplane, StndAIR. Sometimes, I even get jealous of myself. Life is too easy… BUT I wouldn’t be Stan if I didn’t make your life a little bit easier too.
What I’ve done for you, my little Stan D’Auto lovers is create a weekend package to end all packages (aside from my own, bien sur!)
For the next three Fridays, I have arranged for the 11am flight to Shelter Island be made available to you for only $350 one way. With all the money you save on the flight, you can buy me countless martinis when you arrive at Sunset Beach just in time for lunch. I’ve also accommodated for every single passenger to have their very own FIAT® 500 or FIAT® 500 Cabrio once they’ve finished dining!
Yes. You heard me correctly. That’s eight FIAT® for eight passengers. All yours for the weekend! Just make sure to get it back to Sunset Beach in one piece!
How much do you love me? I know. I know. Just stop gushing and email (reservations@stndair.com) or call (855-786-3247) our Flight Concierge to book your flight.
xoxo

Meet Daniel Riordan Wood of StndAIR
Full Name: Daniel Riordan Wood
Exact Title: Air Concierge for StndAIR
Sun Sign: Virgo

First off, tell us a bit about your background, and what you do at The Standard?
Outside of StndAIR I’m a writer and actor, creating and performing work for theaters in downtown NYC. At The Standard I’m a red plane’s mother ☺
What’s your favorite secret spot in NYC?
Valentino Park in Red Hook. Best view of the Statue of Liberty in Brooklyn, idyllic fishing, ACTUAL quiet, and the authentic aroma of key lime pie.
iPhone or Blackberry? What APP do you use the most?
I have both! For personal use, though, nothing beats iPhone - Open Table for last minute dinner reservations and the Shakespeare App for instant wit.
What’s one of your most memorable moments in the building?
From the 18th floor I saw a 40 gallon plastic bag from Home Depot waft magically by the window. It was like that sequel to American Beauty where they tried desperately to up the ante.
I spend most of my time thinking about ____________?
Brisket.
What was the last song you downloaded?
“Sun is on My Side” by Gogol Bordello.
What is your favorite movie based in a hotel?
Can I say The Shining? Eek.
How has 2011 treated you so far?
I’ve been very pleasantly surprised.
When you finally break free from work, what is the next awesome place you plan to vacation to?
Costa Rica. There’s a hotel in the jungle made from the renovated fuselage of an abandoned 747.
StndAIR Now Comes With In Flight Tweets

This summer has been all about StndAIR, our new family seaplane. Zipping back and forth from the beaches to the city, people just can’t get enough! Just this weekend, I was floating around in the Peconic Bay when it flew overhead. I tried to write a message in the sand telling it to come back for me after sunset, but I couldn’t write fast enough…
Now, in order to help you (as well as me when I’m floating in a bay) keep in touch with Willa (that’s her name by the way), we created a StndAIR Twitter account where you can get real time updates about the flight board, weather delays, cancellations, charters, specials, in flight entertainment and all things Stan D’aviator related!
Make sure to follow Willa and stay up to date with her whereabouts and goings on. Let me know if you have any questions…

StndAIR Takes Flight! So Does Stan D’Air!

Photos by Cheryl Dunn
It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s a…WAIT! It actually IS a plane! I know. I couldn’t believe it either. You know me. I never want for anything. I have the Standard Hotels across the country. Designer clothes are aplenty. My martini is ever flowing. I live a pretty good life, but the other day I woke up and said to myself, “Stan, you know what you need? You need something new for the summer. You need a seaplane!” I bet you say that to yourself all the time too, but I digress…
So…I went out and got myself one, and I’m sharing it with YOU, my gorgeous Stan D’Aviators!

Today, our family seaplane, StndAIR, takes off, and we’re bringing you along for the ride. This 8-seat Cessna will be flying from 23rd street and the East River with weekly scheduled flights from Thursday - Monday to East Hampton. I know. I didn’t think it could get any more chic either!
Hold on. I already know what you’re thinking….”What if I don’t want to go to East Hampton?” You don’t have to. If you charter the entire plane with seven of your friends, you can take it anywhere you want within a 300 mile radius of Manhattan. Pick a destination. Nantucket? The Vineyard? Shelter Island? Hawaii? Okay, maybe not Hawaii, but you get what I’m saying.

There’s one last thing…it wouldn’t be Stan’s seaplane if I didn’t throw you for a loop. My friends and I have created the StndAIR Flight Board, which essentially is a little game of risk for all you thrill seekers.
What you have to do is start a board and try to fill it up with seven of your friends. The beauty is that the first seat to EastHampton on the plane is only $30!!!! The second seat is $95. The third seat is $145, and it slowly goes up from there. If you’re the first to fill up your board in your chosen destination and time slot, your charter flight is only $1720! That’s over $1200 off the normal price of a charter! But you have to fight for it, and if you’re not fast enough, you might not win!
So, who’s in? This is a once in a lifetime opportunity, and you never know when I’ll be sitting in the pilot seat.
Flight attendants….We are approaching our final descent. Please prepare the cabin for landing.
To book your seat or to charter the plane, please visit StndAIR or call 855-STND-AIR (786-3247) or email Reservations@StndAIR.com.
