Love Boat Star Power
Sometimes, our hotels can feel a little bit like “The Love Boat” — exciting and new faces, some recurring regulars (i.e. Charo), a healthy does of drama that gets resolved, exotic travels, and world travelers.
Nothing however compares to this one vintage clip of 4 Power Women belting out some broadway tunes together on stage — Ethel Merman, Ann Miller, Carol Channing and Della Reese. The song “I’m The Greatest Star”, from Funny Girl, is the show tune that makes them shine.
Here is a jewel dug out of obscurity thanks to the greatest invention known to man, You Tube (a close tie with Tumblr, where we found this clip). Here’s the “Broadway Follies” episode of Love Boat aired in 1982.
Tumblr Goes to Prom
Our beloved Tumblr celebrated their Prom at Le Bain at The Standard, New York. With the most perfect cupcake dresses, drinks spiked by Kanon Vodka, a dashing prom king and queen, and the best Prom playlist you could dream up, it definitely was a night to remember; Refinery 29 recaps the party for you here.

I don’t think there is anyone that loves Photoshop more than moi. The possibilities are endless…as you can see on more than one magazine cover. We’re not naming names here. That’s why when one of our most genius friends sent us this Tumblr site where Steve Buscemi’s eyes are Photoshopped onto various famous ladies, we almost shattered our martini glass in hand.
Ladies and Stan D’entlemen, we would like to introduce you to the latest in my list of obsessions, Chick With Steve Buscemeyes! HAHAHAHHAHAH! I can’t even type that without laughing. You have to see it to believe it.
Beasties vs Britney
Recently, we’ve witnessed 2 new celebrity Tumblr’s to add to the already existing legion of personal Tumblr’s by celebs — for example, see Zooey Deschanel or Kid Cudi’s Tumblr that are peppered with personal thoughts. Part of the charm is when the talent actually does their own blogging.
In the case of the new Beastie Boy Tumblr, Mike Diamond is one of the guys updating it himself it seems like this video homage to a Cassavetes film. Of course there is the occasional business “shout-out”… but so far, so far, we enjoy what we see.

Live from SXSW
Hark! Where have all the music business friends in New York gone? They are in Austin at South by Southwest (SXSW) Festival. Come to think of it, all the marketing, and some film friends are gone too. Essentially, SXSW is an enormous film, music, and interactive festival which most industry folk run to in order to check out new bands, meet their label mates, throw cool parties, schmooze with digital industry, and screen some great films. Just to add to the “enticing package”, it happens every Spring, which make us itchy New Yorker’s excited to leave war torn winter.
The Tumblr staff has reported a few happenings already… Here’s their latest tips to stay connected to all the activity:

Apart is an independent Romantic/Psychological thriller making its premiere on Thursday at the Paramount Theatre in Austin. Their blog features production updates, behind-the-scenes info, songs from the soundtrack and news about screenings. We love filmmakers on Tumblr
